Monovision lasik
What is monovision lasik?
After the age of 40 the eyes natural lenses loose their ability to accomodate or focus. This means that you can't see clearly at far or close distances. This is called presbyopia and to solve this problem you must use bifocal glasses or reading glasses. To be able to solve this problem permanently there are eye surgeries such as monovision lasik, CLE and Phakic IOL.(CLE and Phakic IOL are not treated with laser which means they are somewhat more expensive.) Monovision lasik means that your eyes are corrected differently with laser. One eye is corrected for distant vision and the other for near vision. Your brain will eventually learn to compensate for this difference in vision which means that you will have clear distant and near vision. We recommend that you try out monovision lenses to see how you like it before you decide to have monovision lasik. After having monovision lasik you wont be needing glasses at all.
Who is it for?
