Intralasik
What is intralasik?
In a regular lasik surgery the eye surgeon uses a tool called a microkeratome to create the cornea flap. Intralasik (intralase lasik) is the laser equivalence.Instead of using a microkeratome, an Intralase laser is used and this is good because:- The laser reads the eye movements many hundred times per second and can compensate for the eye movements when creating the flap.
- Intralasik is more exact. It always creates a perfect flap. The flap gets the right shape and the right thickness which isn't always the case when using a microkerotome.
- The incision Intralasik creates is much thinner because its created by a laser instead of a knife and thus the healing period is shortened.
- The discomfort is reduced
- Intralasik eliminates the risk of complications because the human factor is removed.
- Your vision will most likely get better compared to if you would have regular lasik.
