What is laser eye surgery?A laser eye surgery treatment is the polishing of the cornea so that the light focuses at the same point in the retina. The treatment is painless and you only need local anesthesia. For short-sighted peopla this means that they will get flatter shape of the cornea and long-sighted people will get a rounder shape of the cornea. Astigmatics will get att more even cornea. Those who have presbyopia and use reading glasses to read the newspaper and books can have this corrected with a monovision surgery. This means that one eye will be treated for far vision and the other for near vision. Read more about all our treatments here
Group tripsEvery month we arrange group trips to Istanbul in Turkey where you will have the opportunity to combine your weekend trip with a laser eye surgery. It is also possible to book only the laser eye surgery if you want to plan your trip to Turkey yourself. You can then select which date you want to be treated and you will get all the information you from us so you can plan a longer stay in Turkey. Here are all our planned group trips.
Before you bookIf you want to have a laser eye surgery you can turn to our specialist clinic. We perform many different combinations of laser eye surgery using the basic methods of Lasik and Lasek. We also offer Intralase, wavefront and monovision surgeries. When you have decided to have laser eye surgery you can choose which group trip you would like to join and book your trip directly from this website. We have group trips every month of the year and we also offer you to choose you own surgery date if you dont want to join a group trip. Before you book though you must fulfill our requirements for having laser eye surgery. If you are pregnant, breast feed or have an eye disease you can't have laser eye surgery. You vision also has to have been stable for the past two years. These requirements are for you safety. View all requirements here. The laser eye surgeryThe laser eye surgery doesn't take more than 15 minutes. Before you enter the surgery room you will have to put on a blue hospital coat and hat. Your eyes are then anasthetized with special eye drops which makes the whole procedure painless. The flap of the cornea is created and then the laser "ticks" for about 10 seconds per eye. The flap is put back in place and after this you are done. When everybody in the group have been treated you will be taken back to the hotel where you will rest for the remainder of the day. The day after the laser eye surgery you will be able to see well but its not until a couple of weeks after the surgery your vision will stabilize. The time it take for the vision to stabilize differs from person to person. In some cases the healing process is faster and sometimes its slower. ResultMost people will have perfect eyesight after the laser eye surgery och they wont be needing glasses or lenses anymore. I some cases though a small adjusment might be necessary and this is done without charge. The treatment is permanent which means you wont have to redo it years later. People with presbyopia can expect a slightly longer healing and adjustment period, but most monovision patients are happy with the result after a month. Since laser eye surgery is a kind of surgery there are always risks for side effects. Dry eyes and worse dark vision are common side effects which will disappear after a few months. With modern equipment there is no risk that anyone can become blind after a laser eye surgery.
